FRENCH POLISHING, WAXING AND RE-FINISHING ANTIQUE FURNITURE

French Polish is the preferred finish for the finest period furniture, as nothing else shows off the depth of colour and beauty of the wood in the same way. Very early furniture that predates the use of French Polish,  can be cleaned and re-waxed to give a finish close to the original patina. Crowther & Sons can recreate the surface finish as it should be, with subtle degrees of satin, matt or gloss, to suit the style and period of the piece. For contemporary furniture, the full facilities of a modern spray booth are on hand for the application of modern lacquers.
